A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a
stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back.
The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?”
The scorpion says “Because if I sting you,
I will surely die too, for you see I cannot swim!”
Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back
and out of the corner of his eye he saw the scorpion remove his stinger
from the frogs back.
“YOU FOOL!” croaked the frog
“Now we shall both die, why on earth did you do that?”
The scorpion shrugs and replies
“I could not help myself. It is my nature for I am a Scorpion.”
